Here is a quick outline of the steps I followed to install the MDT and WADK on a Windows Server 2012 R2 System.\u00a0 Please be advised that these are from notes from the first walkthrough of setting this system up.\u00a0 I am certain there will be some typos, unnecessary steps, out of order steps, and other issues with these instructions.<\/p>\n

  1. Install Microsoft Deployment Tools<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Install WADK<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Start Deployment Tools and create Deployment Share<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Right-click Operating Systems and Import Operating System<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Right-click Operating system and update operating system<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Create new install task<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Burn ISO file in Boot folder to CD<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Boot new machine from CD<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Start task<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  10. From Deployment and Imaging Tools Environment, Create Bootable flash Drive<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  11. copype amd64 C:\\winpe_amd64<\/li>\n
  12. MakeWinPEMedia \/UFD C:\\winpe_amd64 F:<\/li>\n
  13. Create Deployment from Windows System Image Manager<\/span><\/li>\n
  14. File, Create Distribution Share<\/span><\/li>\n
  15. Copy install.wim from media to server<\/span><\/li>\n
  16. Select Windows Image file, will have to create a catalog file<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
